Super Bowl XLVI

Congrats to the Giants for a big Super Bowl win! I was cheering for the Giants because I’m not a fan of the Patriots and I wanted Eli Manning to win in his brother’s stadium here in Indianapolis!

The city was amaaaazing this weekend for the game. I can’t even explain how great the city looked and how it seemed like everyone who I talked to who was visiting was having a great time too. Good job Indy!

Here are a few more shots of downtown Indy.

Above is a picture of the zipline going down the main road.  You can see someone flying down it on the right side.  It was awesome! I wish I could have tried it!

Here’s me in full Chicago Bears uniform…

Love it 🙂

This weekend was a busy one for me. After work on Friday, I worked out in what seemed to be the emptiest gym in the universe. There was probably only 10 people working out in the whole place. It was actually awesome. One of the people I was working out next to HAD to have been in town for the game. He was JACKED and HUGE. I’m not kidding..he had to have been some type of NFL player or something. Watching his workout gave me extra motivation to push a little harder and sprint a little faster during my workout. I love when I have something or someone in the gym that motivates me during my workout. Now only if I could figure out who it was….

I lifted back & biceps. I followed Lee Labrada’s Day 5 workout. Here’s a glance of what I did.

  • Underhand Pull-up: 2 sets of 10-12 reps, 1 set to failure
  • 60-90 sec rest
  • Bent Over Dumbbell Row: 2 sets of 10-12 reps, 1 set to failure
  • 60-90 sec rest
  • Hyperextension: 2 sets of 10-12 reps, 1 set to failure
  • 60-90 sec rest
  • Concentration Curls: 2 sets of 10-12 reps, 1 set to failure
  • 60-90 sec rest
  • Preacher Curls: 2 sets of 10-12 reps, 1 set to failure

I followed up this lifting with 30 min of sprints on the treadmill. My sprints were from the ranges of 8mph – 10mph.

Friday night I relaxed and tried to go to bed early. Saturday was a lonnnnnng day for us. It was my brother’s 30th birthday and my family was having lunch in Chicago. I thought it would be nice to drive up to Chicago to be there for my brother. We drove to Chicago, went to lunch and drove back right after. That’s about 3 hours each way..so it was a hike!

We brought my puppy, Mya, so my family could meet her for the first time. They all feel in love with her 🙂 She’s so sweet!

She’s getting BIG!

I’m glad I made the trip to Chicago for my family and my brother. I could tell he truly appreciated us coming for him.

When we got back to Indy, we hit the town for the last night of Super Bowl events. We MAY have stayed out until the bars closed. We MAY have drank a bit too much, my boyfriend and his friends MAY have convinced me that some old man was a celebrity.  I MAY have come back to my guy friends to find out they were just messing with me and he was just a random dude. I MAY be a gullible drunk. We MAY have had an amazing night with good friends in a high energy city!

(Here’s the random dude whom I was convinced was a celebrity. Thanks guys!)

As for Super Bowl  Sunday, I went for a run and ordered pizza. We chose to stay home this year instead of going out because neither of us really cared too much about the teams in it this year. I liked watching the game from home. I actually got to pay attention to the commercials.

What was your favorite 2011 Super Bowl commercial?

I think my favorite commercial was either the M&M shell commercial or a Dorito’s one.

Also..don’t forget to enter my GIVEAWAY! You have until tomorrow at noon to enter! (2/7)
