4 Days Out & Some Exciting Food Pics!

Yesterday was HARD.  I had a really hard time with my new nutrition for this last week of prep.  My carbs were cut down pretty low and I’m basically just eating chicken, tilapia, green beans, asparagus & sweet potato.

I have always had a lot of carbs in my diet.  This is the first time I’ve ever tried cutting my carbs down a little.  Luckily, the team I’m on (Cathy Savage Fitness) doesn’t let us go to extreme measures like some competitors do and completely cut carbs.  Cutting carbs out completley can really mess up your metabolism.  If you lower your carbs for a few days, you’re fine.

That’s where I am now.  I’m on my lower carb days and HATE it.  I feel like I have no energy and even a little out of it.  I went to the gym to get my cardio in and forgot my shorts.  I blame that one strictly on the low carb monsters!

Since I was already at the gym, I worked on posing for about 15 minutes before I left.  At least I got something out of my trip to the gym 😉  I’ll just have to make up that workout tonight.

Alright, back to my nutrition…get ready to see some of the most beautiful and exciting food pictures of your life!  These are just BURSTING with flavor and color….ehh …I wish…

Here are a couple shots I took of my recent meals this week during “peak week”.

Now those are some sad and depressing pictures aren’t they?!! ugh.  I can’t wait to go back to normal clean eating with a big variety of foods!!!

Being on a lower carb diet at the moment, it’s also harder to get through my workouts.  With my energy lower…I haven’t been able to go 100% in the gym like I wish I could being 4 days out!

I’m still drinking a gallon of water a day at this point.  When I get closer, I’ll cut that down a little bit to try to get rid of my last amount of water weight.

I am actually used to drinking WAY more than a gallon a day, so only having a gallon is actually a challenge for me.  I now just make sure to have 20 oz with each meal plus some at the gym and that puts me at about a gallon.

At this point of my prep…I’m SO ready to just get the show on the road.  I feel like this last week has been dragging and it’s only Tuesday!

95 hours until I step on stage 😉

By the way…I’ll be posting random posts and pictures the day of my show so you guys can follow along, but it’s way easier to post to my Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/livelifeactive ..so make sure to follow me there if you’d like to stay updated!
